Description
Tacit has developed a message board server that resides in the Symbol XR400/XR440/XR480 RFID Reader.  The message board itself is connected to the customer’s LAN using an Ethernet connector. The message board server then listens on port 10015 of the RFID Reader.  A host then opens a socket to this port on the RFID Reader and using syntax as follows displays a message on the message board:

MSG:192.168.2.1:Hello World

“192.168.2.1” is the IP Address assigned to the message board
“Hello World” is the message to be displayed.

This message is displayed in RED and rotates from right to left on the message board.  Additional parameters may be added to display the message in other colors and in other modes.
